The CKA has kept training fees unchanged for more than 15 years. Over the last few years however, we have seen an increase in hall hire costs and other expenses. Iain visited our Chesham dojo on the 7th of May for a day investigating close-range application methods based on the Heian kata : a few hours of fun spent grappling, close-range striking, trapping, gripping, biting, escaping, taking one’s opponent down, etc. And as Kenwa Mabuni used to sat, “There are no styles of Karate, just varying interpretations of the same principles”.
